Xiaomi is India’s most trusted brand in the budget segment. Redmi series since launched has made news headlines due to overwhelming price to performance ratio. Now Xiaomi has added a new member in the Redmi series family. Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 is going to be the next Xiaomi’s member in Redmi lineup. It has already made headlines and here is why it is the most anticipated phone in the Xiaomi’s Redmi lineup phone’s launch history ever.
It has 48 MP camera rear camera, unbelievable but true!
Everyone is thinking that how come is it possible that Redmi Note 7 will have 48 MP camera while Redmi Note 6 Pro just had 12+5 MP setup which entered India a few months back? Well, it is certain that Redmi Note 7 will have 48-megapixel Samsung GM1 sensor as the phone has already been launched in China. When launched in India, this phone may cost around 10-15k depending upon RAM.
Basically, Samsung had introduced the 48-megapixel Samsung ISOCELL Bright GM1 sensor last year. This sensor is equivalent to the 12MP 1.6μm-pixel image sensor only with respect to light sensitivity but it is based on the “Tetracell” technology. In this technology, four pixels are merged to work as one. This, in turn, helps to increase light sensitivity and produce brighter and sharper results.
Redmi Note 7 will also support EIS( electronic image stabilization) asGM1 sensor support the same using Gyro technology. So this sensor will help you click better photos even in low light and stable video recording. Selfie camera will have a single 13 MP sensor is less as compared to Redmi Note 6 Pro front camera.
The new Redmi series will have Snapdragon 660 Processor under the hood which we have witnessed in Redmi Note 6 Pro last year. The Phone will sport a6.3 inches IPS screen with a resolution of 1080 x 2340 pixels. Please note that the phone screen will haveCorning Gorilla Glass 5 protection to survive normal drops and keep scratches at bay. Redmi Note 7 will run on Android 9.0 with MIUI 10 on top of it. It will get juice fromLi-Po 4000 mAh battery which seems to be small for a huge 6.3-inch screen. However, Note 7 supports Quick Charge 4 meaning you won’t need to wait longer to get your hands on the phone when it is discharged. The company is going to ship a 10W charger with the phone and sell 18W separately as well. Also, this phone will come with USB-C interface. The phone will be dustproof and splashproof to some extent also.
Will Redmi Note 7 be a hit or a flop?
No one can answer that at this point. Looking at the specs on whole, the clear USP(unique selling point) is the 48 MP rear camera. As the number of megapixels is not the only deciding factor and image processing(software optimization) plays an important factor behind the scene. It will be overspeculation to say that Redmi Note 7 camera will be groundbreaking. It will definitely be better than the camera on the Redmi 6 Pro which also has the same processor i.e. Snapdragon 660 under the hood. So everything is going to be dependent on how well Xiaomi optimises software for the camera to excel and beat the competitors.
Redmi Note 7 is probably coming to India in Marth this year and will have a competitive price tag ranging from 10k to 15k. At this price point, will this Redmi phone outperform other players like Realme and Asus? Only time can tell. Please share your opinion on this in the comments.
