While WhatsApp had an option to add contacts already, the chat giant decided to simplify this task further. Whatsapp is all set to bring two new features to add contacts. The first feature is the manual method which is old but little polished now. The other one is the QR-SCAN.
WhatsApp’s manual method to add contact
The manual method reportedly will be possible within the App itself by allowing users to enter the phone number of the user and the country. The new feature will save your time by inserting country code automatically. Currently, a user has to go out of the App to add contact and refresh the contact list to view if the added contact is on WhatsApp or not? However, with the new update, you will be able to see the availability of the new contact on App automatically as soon as you add the contact.

According to WABetaInfo, the second method will be the ‘QR-SCAN METHOD‘. Users who don’t want to ask the other person’s phone number can directly scan the QR shown on his/her phone screen. Whatsapp will take care of the rest. It will directly fetch the information about the contact like country and availability on the App. By using both the method you can directly add a contact in your contact book. This will eliminate the need to manually fill the fields.
Also, you can revoke the QR-Code in case you want to update your details. The revoke option will mark the outdated details as old OR-Code and enable others to get the latest detail of a contact.
Who will get the benefit?
While this feature will be available for all, the businesses will be able to easily share their contacts. This feature is not available for Android yet however, IOS users got a taste of these. Android users can expect these features in upcoming months.
